This is :iconprophetek:’s Bella, referenced from his photo, [link]
I hope you like it! ^_^

I spent a little more time on this one than the others… though I’m not really sure it shows. DX
I dunno. It seems like I never like these thing when they’re finished, and I’m not sure why. I keep doing them though, ‘cause the process is always fun. :3 And you’s guys seem to get a kick outta them so, yeah. I’m a slave to peer pressure.

I think this may be the last one for a little while though. At least of other people’s dolls. Since I have my own now it seems kinda silly that I’m not drawing him. XD
But, um, I dunno. Don’t hold me to that, ‘cause I do often see photos of dolls that I’m just like, “OMG I seriously have to draw that right now.”

So yeah, infamous Bella. Her and her lovely doll breasts have quite a following already. So it seemed only right that I draw her. Plus, I mean, omg she has horns!! Of course I had to draw that! :D

I did this one a little bit differently than the others. I whipped out the old airbrush for the background, ‘cause I missed playing with it.

I don’t know how apparent this is, but I’ve been trying to give a feel of each doll’s personality in each of these drawings…. Or at least how I perceive their personalities. These are supposed to be more than just dolls. They’re characters that their owners have created, just like my Faron and Seesen. And I’m not sure that some people really get that.
So… I guess that’s my justification for these drawings that look so much like the original photograph. They’re the same doll, in the same pose with the same surroundings. But there should be something else there too. A different perspective, maybe. Or even just an enhancement of the emotion that was already there.

But that’s not at all to say I think I’m making them “better” than the photo. It’s nothing like that. It’s not about “better” or “worse.” Just looking at the same thing in a different way.

I think to have a good understanding of one art form, you must appreciate all of them.

Eh, sorry. I’m feeling moody tonight. >.>

Tools: Copic markers, airbrush with Copics, Hi-Tech-C pens, colored pencils, white out, on marker paper.

In regards to capturing the personality of the characters, I think you really do that with the ones I've seen, the Pavel one especially.
It's interesting that you picked this photo of Bella to work from, as it's one of the few I've done which has really shown her softer side, which is a seldom seen, but important part of her character.
Anyway, I think you did a great job at capturing it and her essence in general.
Thank you again so very very much <3
:iconprophetek:
I do, very much :)
You're more than welcome to draw her on any character I make any time.
I'd love to see some more of your characters too though!
:iconkawaiimon:
waah, so awesome! :D
I think you do show the personalities in your versions of the drawings. :3
Now go and draw your own doll! XDD
:iconarenheim:
Yeah I think the Pavel one was probably the most successful as far as that goes. But I was trying to keep it in mind even with Jim.
And yeah, I think that's one of the main reason why I did pick this photo. What I tend to look for in characters is the secondary aspect of their personality, because I think that's what makes them real. Like, with Bella, she's predominantly harsh and tough. But it's her occasional softness and vulnerability that makes her so believable. If she didn't have that at all, then she wouldn't be very realistic, you know?
I dunno how much sense that made... Sorry I ramble so much. XD
But I am really glad you like it, knowing that people enjoy my art is what makes it worth anything to me.
